CUNY Navigators, wherein select CUNY campuses have partnered with neighborhood middle schools to build a deeper partnership. CUNY Navigator visit guides can facilitate a variety of college exploration workshops for your students in the comfort of your school. The length of each workshop is 45 minutes.
Registration Information:
- All workshops are on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Each partner middle school can only register for a workshop at their partner campus.
- Each middle school will be sent the password to register for a workshop (s).
- The allotted two-hour time slot allows for Navigators to see two different seventh grade sections consecutively if scheduling permits. Example: 7A 9 am-10am and 7B 10 am-11 am.
- Navigators cannot see two sections of students at the same time. : Example: 7 A- 9 am-10 am and 7B -9am-10 am
- Please choose the time slot that works best for your school.
Workshop Information & Descriptions:
- All workshops are on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Navigators work in pairs so expect two workshop facilitators.
- Each school is guaranteed at least one 45 minute session per 7th-grade class.
- Workshop 1: My Learning Style: (Learn about yourself as a learner; recognizing strengths and areas for growth for academic success)
- Workshop 2: Understanding High School Fit (Choose a high school that will help you be successful)
- Workshop 3: A college student Schedule: A Day in the Life of a College Student (Explore a typical day of a college student)
- Workshop 4: Interest, Majors and Careers (Explore how can my passion or interest lead to a successful career)
